Alberto Cottica is an economist, network scientist and now an entrepreneur at Edgeryders. Edgeryders is a community of change-makers with the mission to co-create self-sustaining projects for the common good. Alberto is an expert in online collaboration, collective intelligence, and participatory networked organization and has worked with governments and IGOs in various capacities, including civic hacking with Wikitalia and Spaghetti Open Data. Ablerto is anexpert on collaborative governance and participation, with a proven track record of managing processes of ICT-enabled design and delivery of public policy – and even public services – in collaboration with citizens. Throughout his career, he has established a record for driving innovative practices – and, more importantly, of practicing openness and transparency in policy delivery – in fairly conservative large organizations, including government agencies.
Alberto studied Economics at the University of Modena and Reggio Emiliaand has an MS in Environmental and Resource Economics at University College London. He is currently working on completing his PhD in Quantitative Economics at University of Alicante.
