Mr. Patrick Keuleers is the Director of UNDP’s Governance and Peacebuilding Cluster in the Bureau for Policy and Programme Support in New York. He brings 34 years of experience in development policies and programming, in particular in the field of democratic governance and peacebuilding. He worked in UNDP Headquarters in New York, West and Central Africa and the Asia Pacific region. Prior to his current assignment, he was the director of the Democratic Governance Group in UNDP (2013-2014); Team Leader of the Responsive Institutions Cluster (2009-2013); Governance Team Leader in UNDP’s Asia Pacific Regional Centre (2005-2009); Regional Governance Advisor in UNDP’s Bangkok Sub-Regional Resource Facility (2001-2004). Prior to that he had assignments as Chief Technical Advisor in Laos (1995-2001), Burundi (1991-1995) and Mali (1987-1990). He started his career in the UN as Associate Expert to the Commission for Administrative Reforms in Mali (1984-1987).
