Tech Ambassador

Nikolaj Juncher Wædegaard is Deputy to Denmark’s (and the World’s 1st) Tech Ambassador and he is heading the Ambassador’s Secretariat based in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarter in Copenhagen. Nikolaj was one of the initiators and inventors behind the idea of elevating technology and digitalization to a foreign policy priority in the so-called TechPlomacy initiative as well as appointing an ambassador for technology. Before assuming his current role a little more than a year ago, he was an advisor to the Permanent Secretary of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Prior to that has served at the Danish embassy in Washington DC as well as in various other positions within the ministry, dealing with areas such as climate change, security policy etc.
