Vijay Kandy is the co-founder of Decibel.LIVE, which helps cities monitor environmental pollution in real-time using a connected network of sensors, providing undeniable proof of data using the Ethereum blockchain. Using Ethereum and smart sensors, Decibel.LIVE measures noise, ground vibration, and air quality levels in residential areas and incentivizes polluters to adhere to acceptable limits determined by cities and municipalities. By leveraging smart contracts on Ethereum, Decibel.LIVE allows local governments to enforce environmental regulations efficiently in real-time. At Decibel.LIVE, he works on a purpose driven blockchain and implementing regulations using smart contracts.
His expertise covers distributed systems, analytics and messaging systems. He is driven to expand knowledge and build software that improves the quality of life of citizens. He is particularly interested in decentralized and distributed systems, blockchain, algorithms, programming languages and theory, and finding efficient solutions to puzzles and problems. He is a software engineer and previously developed software for clients in banking, insurance, oil and gas industries. Vijay is pursuing his MS at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
